Pseudopelade of Brocq a particular form of cicatricial alopecia

Pseudopelade of Brocq is an uncommon form of
cicatricial alopecia, of undetermined etiology. Although it
has been the cause of many controversies throughout the
years, mostly due to its resemblence to other forms of
cicatricial alopecia, perhaps the most important feature of
this rare condition, as in other cases of similar disease, is the
distress that the lack of an efficient treatment causes the
patients.
We report the case of a 25 year old man, without any associated disorders, that presented with cicatricial alopecia, with an onset in the last 6 months, according to the patient's description. The clinical aspect of the lesions and the histopathological examination supported the diagnosis of pseudopelade of Brocq.
